The languages of Peru

19/11/2007
Author:

The documentary tells the history of indigenous languages in Peru. With special emphasis on the situation of marginalization as a result of the conquest and the establishment of a school that consolidates the supposed superiority of Spanish. The documentary seeks to sensitize the public to the discrimination suffered by the speakers of native Peruvian languages. It proposes that learning Spanish should not mean not speaking the other languages of Peru and that the loss of many of the native languages is a threat to the most intimate part of people's identity.
