Social Work Section

Presentation

The Social Work Section was created in 1970 and simultaneously forms part of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences as a specialty. It brings together professors of Social Work specialized in Social Management, Social Gerontology, Sociocultural Animation, among others.

The greatest strength of the Section is the Continuing Education in thematic areas related to human development. Among others, the following lines are developed: Human Resources Management in Organizations, Design and Management of Social Projects, Monitoring and Evaluation of Social Programs and Projects, Sociocultural Animation, Social Gerontology, Anti-poverty Microfinance, Family, Children and Adolescents and Coaching.

Continuing Education activities include Specialization, Advanced Specialization, training courses and others, which are offered in classroom, blended, decentralized and mainly virtual modalities.

Teaching activity

It periodically organizes national and international events and maintains strategic alliances with institutions in the country and universities abroad for the development of the lines of action of Continuing Education.

In the area of Continuing Education, it meets the demand for ongoing training of professionals and institutions in the public and private sectors and NGOs.
