Alberto Castellano Barragán, guest professor of the Social Work section, has been proclaimed winner of the Educa Abanca award for the Best Teacher in Spain 2022 in the Vocational Training category. The prize was awarded after a jury recognized the curriculum and trajectory of each applicant teacher who was proposed by his students for this national contest and passed a first selection. Professor Castellano is a teacher of the Sociocultural Animation in Education and Social Promotion processes course of the Diploma of Specialization in Sociocultural Animation offered by the Specialty of Social Work of the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences.
In addition to being an excellent teacher of higher education, Alberto Castellano is the president of the Ibero-American Network of Sociocultural Animation (RIA), which integrates more than 14 Ibero-American countries, Morocco and the USA. Social Work maintains strategic relations with the RIA developing different academic activities of Continuing Education. It is worth mentioning that the line of Sociocultural Animation that we have been working on at PUCP for more than two decades is the only university academic proposal at the Latin American level, which makes us the academic reference at the LATAM level.
